Sitting upon a windowsill
I gaze across the courtyard
Letting my eyes wander to and fro
Until they settle upon a lonely cottage
White as a winter’s fresh snow
Though the chimney was blackened from years of soot
The roof was still sparkling as crystal
Flawless like the rarest diamond
Only I notice something
Something, I hadn’t seen before
Two eyes, peering out into the world
So from that window, the doors of loneliness are closed
No more am I the only observer of the world
For we are like a coin, one in the same yet not
So close yet so far away am I
